A Mother's Journey to Organic Skincare

I’m Ana Maria—the heart and soul behind Aartha Organics.

As a proud mother of two inspiring girls, a loving wife, daughter and friend, I’ve worn many hats over the years and spent nearly two decades immersed in the world of beauty and business—gaining rich experience from roles in multinational corporations, family-run enterprises, and innovative ventures across diverse markets.

My journey took on a profound new purpose when, amid the whirlwind of early parenthood, my eldest daughter developed eczema. That pivotal moment sparked a deep maternal instinct to protect and nurture, compelling me to scrutinise everyday skincare products and uncover the hidden dangers of synthetic ingredients and endocrine disruptors.

I was deeply shocked to learn that behind every promise of healing lay endless lists of synthetic chemicals, preservatives, and questionable additives. These compounds don’t just affect the surface—they can mimic, block, or disrupt our body’s natural hormonal balance, contributing to serious health risks such as early puberty, thyroid dysfunction, metabolic disorders, infertility, hormone-dependent cancers, and neurological developmental delays. This eye-opening realisation made me understand that skincare isn’t merely about treating the surface; it’s about safeguarding our overall health and protecting our children’s future.

Determined to create a safer, more natural alternative, I deepened my expertise with an organic formulation diploma at Formula Botanica and channeled my passion into crafting pure, effective skincare solutions.

What began as a personal mission to help my daughter manage her eczema soon blossomed into a cherished family passion. As I developed natural remedies by blending nourishing oils and butters, I witnessed something beautiful unfold: my younger daughter, inspired by our daily skincare rituals, began to cultivate her own love for natural self-care. Through her eyes, I realised that our daily moisturisng routine was about so much more than just skincare—it was a celebration of self-love, a commitment to routine, and a conscious choice about what we put on our bodies.

This revelation sparked our journey into truly natural skincare. Moving away from complex formulations filled with unnecessary additives and preservatives, I embraced the power of simple, pure ingredients. Today, each product we create is handcrafted with intention, using only 100% natural and organic ingredients in their most potent form.

Based in the beautiful coastal town of Greystones, I've created Aartha Organics with the same attention to detail and commitment to excellence that drove my corporate success, but with a new purpose: crafting skincare that families can trust completely.

Aartha  Organics philosophy

"Aartha," comes from Sanskrit, embodies what sustains and gives purpose to life. This philosophy drives every aspect of our brand. 

Organics refers to products made from natural ingredients grown without synthetic pesticides, fertilisers or genetically modified organism (GMO’s) prioritising sustainability, and ethical production practises.

Our formulations are anhydrous—free from water and preservatives—ensuring every ingredient serves a purpose. Each product is crafted with premium organic butters such as shea, cocoa, kokum, mango, and coconut; nourishing oils like sweet almond, avocado, and jojoba; botanicals such as calendula and chamomile; potent essential oils including frankincense, lavender, palmarosa, citrus, and plumeria; natural vitamin E; and many more high-quality ingredients—all sourced from renowned French and English suppliers to deliver exceptional, naturally derived skincare benefits.

Every formulation is meticulously tested and refined to nurture even the most sensitive skin. We take pride in meeting rigorous EU safety standards, with our Cosmetic Product Safety Report (CPSR) prepared and certified by Oxford Biosciences in accordance with EU cosmetic regulation 1223/2009. Our commitment extends to our packaging, thoughtfully designed to be reusable and recyclable.

As we develop our upcoming baby range and expand our collections, we remain committed to our founding principle: creating skincare pure enough for the most precious faces in our lives.
